Brown Patch

Heavy thatch, high humidity, lush growth and heavy moisture are ideal conditions for brown patch. Large, irregular circular areas up to several feet in diameter of a brownish gray color indicate brown patch. Brown patch attacks grass leaves and stems, causing St. Augustine leaves to turn yellow before dying. Uncontrolled, it can attack the roots and kill large areas of the lawn. It is most prevalent in the spring and fall.
